Childbirth educator, doula, baby and pregnancy yoga instructor
Nur feels a strong connection with mothers-to-be and tremendously enjoys
supporting them and their partners in becoming parents. She believes that childbirth is critical
for the wellbeing of any society and that it should be better understood and
supported so that families can have more positive experiences. Nur believes that all of her past
experiences have prepared her for this task.
Before DOUM
>Graduated from Bilkent University’s Tourism Department in 1995
>Obtained her masters degree in Human Resources with honours from
Istanbul University in 2002
>Worked in various positions including top management for 13 years in
tourism and management consulting industries
In 2008 she decided to do what was in her heart instead of what was
ahead of her.
After DOUM
Childbirth:
>Obtained her childbirth educator diploma from Childbirth
International (October 2008-June 2009)
>Has been producing and presenting Dogum Gunu, radioshow about
natural birth on Acik Radio, with Nur since April 2009
>Attended Midwifery Today’s conference in Denmark and participated in
workshops and trainings with world renown midwives and doctors like Ina May
Gaskin, Dr. Michel Odent and Naoli Vinaver Lopez (May 2009)
>Organized seminars and events for parents and expecting parents at
family therapy and counseling center I’Baby
>Was trained by teaching assistants of Istanbul Medicine Faculty’s
anatomy department, Dr Aysin Kale and Dr Ozcan Gayretli on anatomy of birth and
pregnancy
>Attended Elena Tonetti's Birth Into Being Apprenticeship Training in Berlin (September 2011)
>Is a founding member of Doğana National Association for the the Rights of Women in Childbirth
