Postpartum Pilates

Postpartum Pilates is a great way to get in shape and reconnect with your body after the birth of your baby. It can also help shorten recovery time after birth and relieve many common postpartum problems such as lower back pain and incontinence. By first realigning the body Pilates allows muscles to be strengthened properly while maintaining flexibility. Pilates works the entire body while focusing on the core muscles of the abdomen.

The days and months after the birth of your baby are when your body is most vulnerable.  With the added impact of breastfeeding the female body goes through immense change during this period.  As with any physical work after the birth of your baby we recommend that you work with a trainer who specializes in the postpartum period.

A postpartum Pilates program can be started about 6 weeks after the baby's birth. As with any exercise program a doctor's approval is highly recommended.

Classes every Thursday at 14:00 at DOUM.
